Album 24 / 100: Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath

Paranoid was really good, but this debut was fantastic. Forging their metal roots with so many riffs and wizards to boot! There was rarely a dull moment, even on the longest track. You would be hard pressed to guess that this was their first album. Sure, you get a sense of them "figuring it out," but it felt more raw and ripping than sloppy and careless. I'm a convert for sure. Not that I didn't like Black Sabbath, I just never listened to them much.
